Hi, I'm Kellen.

A few years ago, I became obsessed with chess. During the summer, I used the quiet hours during the day to study chess.

In four months, I went from 1000, the halfway point for online players, to 1500, better than 90% of players on chess.com. I kept refining that study plan to become a top 1% player and reached a peak rating of 2068, putting me in the top 0.2%.

With my experience, I help people hit that same transformation faster by showing a clear roadmap, telling you what to study, and explaining what goes into your thought process each game.

I've taught hundreds of students, ages 4 to 65, at dozens of Bay Area schools. As a Regional Director at Chess Wizards, I oversaw more than 50 instructors across 130 schools, trained those instructors, and helped them develop their curriculum.

I teach one clear thing at a time using games you actually play. A routine you can keep and honest feedback on your decision-making process are what's going to take you to the next level.
